Opportunity to Inform Parliament about Intergenerational Fairness

The Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee, led by Frank Field MP, announced that it would hold an inquiry into intergenerational fairness earlier this year. We hope that you will consider submitting evidence to the inquiry, as some members have done already. The deadline for submission of written evidence is Friday 19 February 2015.

Stephen Burke, Director of United for All Ages, has kindly agreed to speak to members about the key issues raised in the paper it published last month, Fairness for All Ages, in order to kickstart a general discussion about the issues which the Select Committee inquiry should take into account and the conclusions we hope the Select Committee will reach. The paper features contributions from 20 national organisations and sets out 20 ideas for radical action to address intergenerational inequity. This will be our first meeting of the year and a good opportunity to exchange views with other members about intergenerational fairness. We hope as many members as possible will attend.

Our meeting will take place on Wednesday 9 March 2016 from 3.30-5pm in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.

Please let me know if you would like to join us so that a place can be reserved for you.
